Boarding, stall and field options

Facilities

Set on 40 acres just outside of DC, our boarding program is designed for horses and riders who value comfort, care, and a premier equestrian environment. Horses are thoughtfully grouped in large grass pastures according to personality and herd dynamics, each with run-in sheds for shelter and round bales in hay huts year-round, ensuring constant access to forage in every season. Our turnout philosophy prioritizes horse happiness and well-being, with most horses enjoying a 12-hour in/12-hour out schedule whenever possible. For horses that require individual time, we also offer a handful of solo turnout options to accommodate special needs or preferences.

Our facilities include a spacious indoor arena with a fully adjustable jump course, refreshed weekly to provide variety and challenge for riders of all levels. For outdoor schooling, the grass jump field offers a natural, open setting that encourages confident, well-rounded training. Onsite trainers provide daily guidance, tailoring work to each horse and rider’s individual goals.

Horses are housed in 11 oversized stalls and 3 pony stalls, all equipped with Nelson automatic waterers, and are fed Buckeye grain alongside free-choice hay in nets, promoting optimal nutrition and healthy eating habits. With 24/7 onsite professional staff, every horse benefits from consistent supervision, individualized care, and expert turnout management, giving owners complete peace of mind.

Training and Showing

All boarding spots at HR Equestrian require participation in our training program, ensuring that horses are consistently exercised, well-supervised, and receiving professional instruction. While there is no requirement to show, our team regularly attends local MHSA and VHSA shows, offering expert coaching and preparation for the show ring if desired. We can also provide training and support for USEF-rated competitions throughout the region.

Leasing Support

We are also able to assist owners who wish to lease their horses—partial, half, or full—to qualified riders, providing guidance and management to ensure a safe, rewarding experience for both horse and client.
